But this is no ordinary staff outing. Over 100 seats have been booked for employees of the shower & bathroom company so they can see their Chief Executive Officer make his cinematic debut.
Herbert V. Kohler, who owns and runs the group company from its base in Wisconsin USA, has a cameo appearance in the Western, along side the likes of Kevin Costner, Robert Duvall and Annette Bening. Kohler, who appears in the film as a bartender in a traditional Western saloon, has been a close friend of Costner for some years, after meeting him at a Pro-Am golf tournament in California.
Head of Marketing Communications for Kohler Mira, Roger Crabb said:
“This is a great opportunity for the staff to get together outside of the work environment. Mr Kohler is understandably proud of his appearance in the film – it is not every day you get to feature in a Hollywood blockbuster – and the whole company is proud to support him in his achievement.”
The film follows a group of four friends freegrazing their cattle across the plains. On their travels, the cowboys end up in the small town of Harmonville, where they encounter a corrupt sheriff and kingpin rancher who govern the territory through fear, tyranny and violence. Amidst this turmoil, life takes an unexpected turn for Charley (Kevin Costner), when he meets the beautiful and warm-spirited Sue Barlow (Annette Bening).
The movie opens in cinemas this week.
