People from Ulster love to warble while they wash, according to new research by shower market leaders, Mira.
A survey of over 3000 British people was carried out to discover their showering habits. At least a quarter of people in all regions sing in the shower, with 40% of people in Ulster…
The Scottish Border regions came out tops with 67% of respondents claiming to enjoy a good sing-song whilst lathering up, with over 40% of showerers from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales also in fine voice. It seems that residents in the Border regions are also big fans of their tunes, with 56% listening to music in the shower – more than any other region.
People in London are also high up in the music stakes with 30% flicking on the stereo before stepping into the shower, whilst 28% in Yorkshire love to listen to music and 29% sing. Favourite shower tunes from across the nation include those featured on Radio Four, and tracks by artists as diverse as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and predictably, Wet Wet Wet.
However, East Anglians prefer to ‘wash ‘n’ go’, with only 22% people singing, whilst washers in the South West don’t rate listening to music very high on their showering activities – only 17% claim to do so.
The survey also found that cleanliness is high on the list of priorities for British people with over a half showering daily.
