A team of nine from Cheltenham-based, Kohler Mira have raised over £600.00 for Cancer Research UK.
Nine women joined together and raised the monies after running 5 kilometres around Cheltenham Race Course in the Race For Life fundraiser.
Wearing pink t-shirts as a mark of respect for those suffering from cancer, the women were joined by hundreds of enthusiastic runners all determined to raise as much money as possible to help fund cancer research programmes.
The women who work for the UK’s leading manufacturer of bathrooms and shower rooms, were all cheered on by friends and colleagues as they ran round the racecourse, well known for hosting many big jumping events including the Tripleprint Gold Cup.
A women’s only event, Race For Life has raised over £70 million since 1994 and every year all around the country 1.4 million women put their jogging shoes on and run in memory of their loved ones.
Julie Mitchell, one out of the nine from Kohler Mira who took part at this particular race said: “The day was just fantastic. To see so many people take part kept you going, especially the runners who where actually suffering from cancer. Their determination to take part was an inspiration for everyone and I would like to thank everyone who kindly donated sponsor money for the event.
