Mira Showers is sponsoring National Shower Week (16-22 April 2007) - a new initiative designed to encourage people to shower rather than bath, in an effort to save water and time.
Research shows that the average person uses 1,120 litres of water a week. Of this 168 litres are used for bathing compared to only 56 litres for showering. Over a year, on average, one person will use 8,760 litres of water for bathing compared to just 2,290 litres for showering .
The awareness presents Mira Showers the opportunity to highlight key issues in the showering industry such as water efficiency, as well as launch results of a national survey looking at showering trends.
Roger Crabb, marketing manager for Kohler Mira Ltd said: “The week is a great opportunity for everyone in the UK to get involved and show their support for water efficiency.
“It is never too late to cut back on both the water and energy you use from simple everyday tasks such as running a bath. If everyone in the UK switched from bath to shower, they would potentially save 388 billion litres of water every year.”
There will be a number of regional radio competitions for shower lovers to win Mira shower packs comprising shower gels, towel and a shower timer throughout National Shower Week.
For a chance to win a stylish, high performance Mira Sport Thermostatic shower, simply register your details by calling the Mira Hotline on +44 (0) 845 600 6472 between 09.00am – 6.00pm by 20 April 2007. One lucky winner will be selected on 23 April 2007. Good luck and happy showering from Mira.
