Safety in the shower is undoubtedly a huge concern for vulnerable people – particularly the elderly and very young – particularly prominent within the Community and Social Housing marketplace. Those who suffer with dexterity, sight or hearing issues are particularly at risk and often have difficulty when showering. In response to this, we’ve developed a new, innovative version of our ever-popular Mira Advance electric shower.

From research and interviews with end users, occupational therapists and installers, to working collaboratively with the Royal National Institute of the Blind, no stone has been left unturned to ensure that this product is at the height of safety and reliability. In recognition of its high levels of safety, the Advance range is RNIB Gold Awarded.

Mira Clearscale Pro™ Technology

This clever electric shower range features the patented Mira Clearscale Pro™, a market-leading anti-limescale technology for a longer-lasting, better performing electric shower, making it easier than ever to fit and forget. Plus, Mira Opti‑flo Pro™ technology ensures great performance, irrespective of water pressure so customers can be assured of consistent water flow. The range also features thermostatic temperature control and BEAB Care, ensuring safer showering for all.

Visually & Audio Enhanced

When sight, hearing and dexterity are limited or compromised, showering – a simply day-to-day activity that is taken for granted – can be very daunting. That’s why the Mira Advance is designed to give peace of mind for the user. Its high contrast graphics and raised tactile markings highlight critical touchpoints, and make navigating the showering controls easier. Plus, its light-touch buttons are simple to use, even when dexterity is limited.

The features of Mira Advance aid those with hearing issues as well; its clear, audible beeps enable the user to know if the shower is on, off or has reached the desired temperature. There are also audible clicks on both the showerhead, to indicate changing between the 3 spray patterns, and on the central dial, to indicate the changing in temperature. It’s these innovative touches that make all the difference to a vulnerable user.

Wet-room Adaptations

When a wet-room installation is needed, there is a Mira Advance for this, too. The Mira Advance Flex Extra is compatible with the Bluetooth® Whale Pump, which is specifically designed to solve shower drainage problems, allowing you to create a level access bathroom without compromise.

PCB Technology

There’s more to Mira Advance than meets the eye; we’ve made small, but vital changes such as optimising the flow valve for added reliability. Plus, Mira Advance features the latest PCB technology. It’s now easier than ever to programme the maximum temperature; whether it’s BEAB Care or 48°C, with a choice of 4 maximum temperature settings at the flick of a switch.
