Adaptable design within the home is predicted to be a significant trend this year highlighted in our most recent Moment Masters roundtable discussion. Bathrooms are now adaptive spaces which can change and develop depending on the mood and personality of the consumer.

We have written a guide in order for you to design a room to your specific needs.

Mira Showers’ Design Director, Simon Browning states that “Technology is up to the individual. It can be personalised to each person depending on their needs."

The constant development of technology means the ability to be connected to our home is becoming more accessible than ever, and we have seen a surge in the number of products available for consumers to introduce technology to their home. Our Mira Platinum Dual digital shower has a wireless controller which allows you to set the temperature of your shower from another room so that the water is at your desired temperature when switched on.

Leading interior experts Trend Pulse explain that “Products need to be adaptable for the bathroom. Small and portable accessories are important within this space.”

With smaller bathrooms, space is essential and in order to maximise usage, adaptable products are key. Working with restricted space means that it can sometimes feel impossible to include everything that you want, whether it be a bathroom for you and your children or the inclusion of a shower and bath.

A simple step to cater for a family bathroom is replacing glass storage with shatterproof plastic or resin is a good place to start to avoid breakages. With children valuing their time in their bath it might be worth purchasing a non-slip bath mat to avoid injuring themselves. Alternatively our range of Mira Flight Safe Shower trays are developed with our exclusive anti-slip technology designed to keep the whole family safe.

Technology expert, Will Brocklebank explains that “lights that change colour are important when it comes to creating ambiance and an immersive feel."

The bathroom is the one room in your house where you are allowed and expected to take time out of your hectic lifestyle to relax, so the lighting is key in generating the perfect mood and tends to have a greater impact than you first might think. Changing an outdated light fixture can make a huge impact on the design of the whole room. There are also multiple unique lighting solutions that can completely revamp an area, such as light controls that enable you to dim or brighten up the room.
