Introducing our latest Mira Minilte Mixer Shower. The perfect compact mixer valve is a great choice for small bathrooms and en-suites. Follow our step by step guide which covers the Exposed Valve product and is intended to be used in conjunction with our installation and user guide.

After unpacking the shower familiarise yourself with the instructions – this is a new evolution of the Mira Minilite product range, and may differ to a degree from those tackled in your last job.

Step 1

Mira Minilite Installation Step 1

Decide where you want to position the mixer valve, the route for the supply pipework and where the outlet will be. Ideally, the hot supply will be on the left and the cold on the right. In the event of the inlet supplies being reversed, the unit can be adjusted over to accommodate this. For rear inlet, use an elbow fitting. A falling supply can be preferable to prevent air locks.

Step 2

Now use the template supplied to establish the pipe centres (110mm). The edges of the template can be folded toward you to provide a rest for a spirit level. For a falling supply, this will take place on the ceiling.

Step 3

After finishing the wall surface and using a standard pipe slice, cut the recessed pipe length so it protrudes through the finished surface by 21–26mm. Remove any burrs from the pipes. Don’t use a hacksaw as this may damage seals in the valve.

Step 4

Using the same template as for the pipe centres, mark the three fixing holes for the back plate. Remove the backplate from the shower unit and fix it to the wall. Three x no. 8 x 1¼” screws and wall plugs are supplied. Seal the concealing plates with silicon and press them to the wall.
It is essential at this point that the supply pipework is thoroughly flushed through before connection to the mixer. Failure to do so may result in product malfunction and will not be covered under the guarantee.

Step 5

Prepare the unit by loosening the hex screws to adjust each elbow depending on the supply pipe route. Make sure the flow regulator is in place. The unit comes with two: 12 and 6 litres per minute (lpm). The regulator can be removed if the maintained (running) water pressure is less than 0.5 bar or the shower force is too low.

Step 6

Fit the compression nuts and olives onto the supply pipework, and then connect the unit by pushing the push the valve firmly back onto the back plate. Tighten the compression nuts finger tight. Use the hex screw underneath the valve to secure it to the wall. Then tighten the nuts with a spanner, taking great care not to damage the chrome finish.

Step 7

For new installations where the accessory kit is being fitted for the first time (and not over a previous item), mark the fixing centres at 630mm. Drill and screw the mounting brackets into the wall. Assemble the fittings and slot them into the brackets. Fix the side bar at both ends with the hex screw supplied. Attach the hose making sure the rubber washers are in place at both ends.
