Grasping Part G

Amendments to Part G of the Building Regulations – effective, after being delayed last summer, on April 6th – require, among other things, that the potential ‘wholesome’ (potable) water consumption by home occupiers must not exceed 125 litres per person (lpp) per day. This means more joined-up thinking as each element of a bathroom or kitchen must relate to the next in order to keep a household's ‘wholesome’ water use to the 125 lpp limit. It also contains provisions regarding the delivery of hot water at safe temperatures to the bathroom.

In order to help installers, merchants, developers, specifiers and retailers to better understand the changes, Mira has prod cued – in association with leading industry partners – Grasping Part G. Grasping Part G is an easily digested Web and podcast show that will provide you with an excellent overview of the new regulations. You can watch it here, or download it free to your computer or MP3 player from the “Training” area of iTunes.

Led by journalist Roger Bisby, it features Yvonne Orgill, Chief Executive of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association; Chris Pateman, Managing Director of the Builders Merchants Federation; Roy Minett of Mira Showers (who’s also a former Chair of the TMVA); and editors from Professional heating & Plumbing Installer, Professional Housebuilder & Property Developer and kbbreview magazines.
