Kohler Mira has a long history of successful early careers programmes; investment in our employees’ development, to support every individual to become the best version of themselves, is a huge part of our culture. All of our early careers opportunities are tailored to the individual, build a breadth of experience across a range of departments, with tailored support in place.
We have included information about both our Business and Engineering apprenticeships below, but the best way for you to learn more about our business it to come and visit us. This year, we will be holding two open evenings, which will give you the opportunity to learn about both routes in one evening.
The evenings will be held on Tuesday 4th December and Wednesday 30th January between 4.15 – 7.30pm. Site tours will run every 30 minutes from 4.30pm.
To book your place, please email email@example.com, confirming the time you’d like to come.
Apprenticeships at Kohler Mira
Each year we have a regular intake of apprentices. Apprenticeships are a great way to start and develop your career. Not only do you get paid to study, you get to experience the whole business to truly discover where your skills interests lie. Our Engineering programme has been well established for over 40 years. In 2018 we expanded our offering to include Business apprentices too.
As an apprentice, you will have a dedicated apprentice manager, as well as the support from mentors across the business as you undertake each rotation.
Our apprentices take pride in supporting each other, and the wider business. You will become part of the ‘Apprentice Association’ which means working collaboratively with your peers to organise charity events, support STEM, and share your learnings. Our apprentices also take responsibility for organising their annual residential.
Our Business Apprenticeship provides you with the opportunity to experience the whole of our business from a commercial point of view. There are opportunities to experience Marketing, Customer Services, Supply Chain, and our commercial brand Rada Controls.
Our Business Apprentices study a part-time Project Management qualification at Gloucester Enterprise Limited (GEL) located in Twigworth, Gloucester. The course includes a mixture of on and offsite training, personality profiling, leadership development and coaching. These core skills will become fundamental as you prepare for a junior role within Kohler Mira.
Engineering Apprenticeships at Kohler Mira offer you the chance to study and rotate through our engineering functions from Manufacturing to Product Design. This gives you the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills along the way, and discover which business area excites you most.
Engineering Apprentices will spend their first year studying at GET College, in Barnwood (Gloucester); here you will learn all the fundamental skills you will need to become a successful engineer. You will have the opportunity to apply your skills throughout your first year, as you will be onsite during college breaks.
From second year onwards, you will be based onsite at Kohler Mira, whilst continuing to attend to college one day a week. Once you have completed your Level 3 Apprenticeship, subject to performance and aspiration, you will progress to study HNC/D.
How do I apply?
Applications for apprenticeships starting in 2019 are open from Tuesday 20th November 2018 – Wednesday 14th February 2019. To apply, you will need to submit a copy of your CV and a personal statement, outlining why you want an apprenticeship with Kohler Mira (max 400 words).
If you are successful at stage one, you will be invited to an assessment day at Kohler Mira. This informal day includes a mixture of practical and academic activities. It’s a great way for you to gain a better understanding of our business and for us to get to know you.
Attendance at the assessment centre is mandatory, please ensure you can attend prior to submitting your application.
