At Mira Showers, we are proud to say that we have the UK’s No. 1 electric shower with the Mira Sport range. Since its launch in 1988, this collection has gone from strength to strength, with four great new products making up the selection.

To find out all there is to know, we spoke to our Electrics Product Manager.

Why would you recommend Mira Sport to customers?

Well firstly, it’s recognised as the installers' favourite electric shower – you can’t get a better recommendation than that!

It is the best performing electric shower because of our unique patented technologies, including: Mira Opti-flo technology, Mira Sensi-flo technology and Mira Clearscaletechnology. The thermostatic versions add an additional level of temperature stability for the safety conscious. The large multi-function chrome shower head gives excellent spray performance.

If I am upgrading my bathroom, which one would you suggest?

It would have to be the Mira Sport Max with Airboost™. Available in both dual and single outlet, this is the most powerful electric shower on the market, plus both variants have Mira Airboost™ technology for an even greater showering experience.

How many different varieties are there to the Mira Sport and what are their differences?

There are three varieties in the range: Mira Sport Thermostatic, Mira Sport Multi-Fit and Mira Sport Max. They all have Mira Opti-flo, Mira Sensi-flo and Mira Clearscale technologies, with the same fittings, handsets and 2 year guarantee.

The showers do have subtle differences, for example, the Mira Sport Thermostatic adds increased temperature stability. Whereas the Mira Sport Multi-Fit accommodates wiring and electrical supplies from both the right and the left to directly replace your existing shower. The Mira Sport Max adds a button power control and Mira Airboosttechnology boosting the flow by up to 30%.

How do I choose which kilowatt power rating my Mira Sport should have?

I would first recommend consulting your plumber and electrician! If it’s a replacement to an existing electric shower you will be limited by the cabling and RCD you have installed. If it’s a new installation you can specify what kW shower you’d prefer, provided it can be accommodated by your electricity supply.

Do I need a plumber to install a Mira Sport?

Technically, if you are replacing an old electric shower, with no change to the cabling that is supplying the unit, and the kW rating of the replacement electric shower is exactly the same, then any competent ‘DIY-er’ can take on the installation. However, if you are unsure, or would prefer to get a professional to install the product then contact a plumber or electrician for advice.

What are the benefits to a Mira Sport?

  1. Best performance all year round – enhanced by unique patented technologies
  2. Choice – a variant or kW rating for any needs
  3. Reliability – all the showers have been tested to 7500 on/off cycles (10 years use), plus they incorporate the Mira Clearscale technology, which is proven to make our electric showers last up to 50% longer than competitor products.
