Kohler Mira associates have seen 2018 in on a high, after raising a combined total of over £70,000 for our two partner charities: charity: water and Cancer Research UK in 2017.
Fundraising for charity: water
In celebration of World Water Day in March 2017, we announced a year-long partnership with charity: water as part of our stewardship programme. Associates organised a wide-array of fundraising activities, including a water-themed bake-off and a sponsored walk between our Cheltenham HQ and Barnwood (Gloucester) site. In total, associates raised a staggering £58,300. All of the funds will go towards clean water projects for entire communities over the next two years.
Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
Along with charity: water, associates also raised £11,982 for Cancer Research UK, a worthy cause close to employees’ hearts. A variety of events were held throughout the year, including sponsored walks by the Kohler Mira team in Hull.
The year was rounded off with a touch of glitz and glamour with the Kohler UK Enchanted Ball, which offered guests a swanky three-course dinner along with an evening of dancing and entertainment.
Our charity partner for 2018
Following on from the great success of 2017, we are proud to announce that renowned charity, Make A Wish, will be our charity partner for 2018. Voted for by associates, plans are already afoot for a great fundraising year with plenty of plans in the pipeline, including a skydive for some brave associates. The Make A Wish team came to visit us at our Cheltenham site to tell our associates more about the charity, how they can help fundraise and how we can support their national events.
Liz Hazeldene, Managing Director at Kohler Mira, said: “Charity is such a huge part of our company ethos. Both Cancer Research UK and charity: water are extremely close to everyone’s hearts here and we are delighted with the results of our fundraising efforts last year. We are very excited to announce our new charity partner, ‘Make a Wish’ and all of our teams are already putting together some fantastic plans to beat our targets.”
