Kohler Mira associates have seen 2019 in on a high, after fundraising £32,000 for our chosen charity partner in 2018. We wanted to share the fantastic result of raising £32,000 by recapping a few of the many fantastic charity events we held throughout 2018.
World Wish Week
Our first major charity event was a week of focused fundraising to support Make-A-Wish’s World Wish Day which takes place every year on the 29th April. During our focused week, we held a classic ‘Bake-Off’ competition themed around stars and wishes – always a winner; we also had Bingo and a Film Quiz and during the week, a Tombola and Raffle also took place raising a great amount of money.
The stand out activity from the week was the Human Resources team taking on a 12 hours Dance-a-thon. The team invited professional instructors to come and help covering Clubbercise and Charleston dance styles. The achy legs and limbs were worth it in the end as the HR team raised over £2,000 adding to the total raised for the week: a fantastic £4,600!
Charity Skydive
In September eight brave Mira associates from the Marketing and Customer Service teams took part in a skydive to help fundraise. In the lead up to infamous 10,000 ascend the team spent time raising money through a variety of activities which included a charity car wash, cake sales and skydive themed games. These efforts, along with the main event itself, led to a grand total of £2,800 being raised towards the grand total.
Cycling Challenge
October saw nine members of the Mira Shower Sales team take on a 460-mile cycle challenge around Rutland Water Park. In a relay team format the team completed their goal by the afternoon and raised over £1,800 for the overall total.
Our New Charity Partner for 2019
Following on from the great success of 2018, we are extremely proud to announce that renowned charity, Alzheimer’s Research UK, will be our charity partner for 2019. Voted for by our associates at the end of last year and have already started planning ideas for the year ahead of fundraising. The Alzheimer’s Research UK team came to visit us at our Cheltenham site to tell our associates more about the charity, how they can help fundraise and how we can support their national events.
