Charity fundraising is something which is close to the hearts of Kohler Mira associates, and we were delighted to announce at the start of the year that they had chosen Make-A-Wish UK as our charity to support in 2018.
Since then, fundraising efforts have really taken off and most recently, a week of focused fundraising took place to support Make-A-Wish’s World Wish Day
on the 29th April.
Our ‘World Wish Week’ featured a variety of activity all organised by associates for associates.
We had the classic ‘Bake-Off’ competition – always a winner; we also had Bingo and a Film Quiz and across the week, a Tombola and Raffle also took place. And, our Internal Sales team set up a tuck shop in their office complete with pick-n-mix, weighing scales and paper bags - as well as a lucky dip.
Associates were also invited to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up - a suggested activity from Make-A -Wish called 'Wear your Wish' day. From vets to a basketball player, a variety of costumes were on display!
The stand-out activity had to be our HR team’s Dance-a-thon which took place from 9am-9pm – a whole twelve hours of constant dancing! The team invited in a number of professional dance instructors to get them through, including a Clubbercise and Charleston teacher. Associates were welcome to take part throughout, and there was also a family hour for associates to bring their children along.
Amazingly, the HR team raised over £2,000 adding to the total raised for the week: a fantastic £4,600!
There is so much more planned this year, including a team Skydive in September. Look out for more news throughout 2018.
