How can I identify my Mira Excel shower

The Mira Excel is one of our longest running bar shower ranges and there have been several versions of it over the years. This guide lists the main features of each generation of the Mira Excel to help you identify your particular shower. The list below starts with the latest generation and works backwards.

October 2002 - Current

The following versions of the Mira Excel are included in this range:

Mira Excel 02 B91A
Mira Excel 02 B91B

The main features of this range are:


The temperature indicator has coloured dots and a red override button
The temperature dial is round
The flow control is a lever
The temperature control is at the front and the flow control behind
It has a universal cartridge with a white hub, which is suitable for ALL types of plumbing systems

October 2009 - December 2009

The following versions of the Mira Excel are included in this range:

Mira Excel 02 B91A
Mira Excel 02 B91B

The main features of this range are:

The temperature indicator has coloured dots and a red override button
The temperature dial is round
The flow control is a lever
The temperature control is at the front and the flow control behind
It has a universal cartridge with a white hub, which is suitable for ALL types of plumbing systems
This is the same valve as the current Excel (B91) but supplied with Mira 360 shower fittings

October 2002 - September 2005

The following versions of the Mira Excel are included in this range:

Mira Excel 02 B91A
Mira Excel 02 B91B

The main features of this range are:

The temperature indicator has coloured dots and a red override button
The temperature dial is round
The flow control is a lever
The temperature control is at the front and the flow control behind
It has a universal cartridge with a white hub, which is suitable for ALL types of plumbing systems

Mira Excel FL EV B83
Mira Excel FL BIR, BIV B83

The main features of this range are:

The numbers on the temperature indicator read 1-9
The controls dials are round
The temperature control is at the front and the flow control behind
It has a universal cartridge with a purple hub, which is suitable for ALL types of plumbing systems

Please note - some people may have changed the control dials for the extended levers pictured below:

November 1990 - June 1996

The following versions of the Mira Excel are included in this range:

Mira Excel EV B73
Mira Excel BIR, BIV B73

The main features of this range are:

The numbers on the temperature indicator read 1-7
The controls dials are round
The temperature control is at the front and the flow control behind
The original cartridge for low pressure systems had a yellow hub
The original cartridge for high pressure systems had a green hub
It was then changed to a universal cartridge with a purple hub, which is suitable for ALL types of plumbing systems
