The water flow from my power shower has weakened

Troubleshooting

Please see below our recommendations for resolving the flow issue from your power shower. If none of the suggestions resolve your problem, you can book a service repair online or contact our Customer Service team by using the contact us form.

Can you hear the pump running?

  • No – Please contact our Customer Services Team for assistance with repairs or spare parts.
  • For the tradesperson: Consider replacing the motor pump assembly or the PCB assembly.
  • Yes – Check if the shower has adequate water pressure:
    • Ensure the stop tap hasn't been turned down.
    • Verify if other outlets are in use simultaneously, as this may affect the flow.

Please note that any appliance that uses water is classed as a water outlet. This includes washing machines, dish washers, hoses and toilets.

Please read our helpful guide on Water supplies - Low pressure gravity system for more information on the correct water supply for a power shower.

If this does not resolve the issue:

  • Try removing the showerhead from the shower hose (unscrews like a bottle top)
  • Drop the shower hose down into bath or shower tray and run the shower
  • If the shower runs correctly without the showerhead it indicates that the showerhead is blocked

Poor shower performance can be avoided by regular cleaning of the showerhead. Please read our helpful guides here on How to remove a showerhead and How to clean your showerhead from limescale.

If this has still not resolved the issue:

  • Unscrew the shower hose and run water through (over your water catchment area, i.e. shower cubicle or your bath. Read our helpful guide on, How to remove a shower hose
  • If the shower runs correctly without the hose, it indicates that your shower hose has a blockage where it could be kinked, or the lining has collapsed
  • We would recommend replacing your shower hose. You can view our range of compatible shower hoses here

If this has not resolved the issue:

This shower contains filters which we would recommend being checked by a qualified tradesperson.

For the tradesperson: Check the filters are clean and check valves are not sticking.
