Replacing the showerhead and hose on your Mira Sport Max (step-by-step guide)

Installation

Over time, showerheads and hoses can wear out, affecting water flow and overall performance. If your Mira Sport Max (Versions J03G & J03H) needs a refresh, replacing the showerhead and hose is a quick and simple process. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to safely remove and install a new showerhead and hose, ensuring your shower continues to perform at its best.

To remove the showerhead:

  • Ensure the shower is turned off.
  • Remove the showerhead from the holder.
  • Grasp the hose to ensure it remains stationary.
  • Unscrew the showerhead in an anti-clockwise motion to remove, taking care not to lose the hose washer - be aware a small amount of water may be present.
  • Pull out the Air Pipe Diffuser from the showerhead (you can check the holes on the diffuser are free from scale at this point, clean if necessary).

To remove the hose (once the showerhead has been removed):

  • Grasp the hose near to the point where it connects to the shower.
  • Place one hand on the shower itself to prevent it being moved if the hose is difficult to turn.
  • Unscrew the hose in an anti-clockwise motion to remove, taking care not to lose the hose washer - once again being aware that there may be residual water inside the hose.
  • Pull the Air Pipe Adaptor from the shower outlet.
  • Pull the Air Pipe Adaptor from the Air Pipe then withdraw the Air Pipe from the hose.
  • Inspect and replace the hose if necessary.
  • Re-assemble parts in reverse order.

Frequently asked questions:

How do I reattach the air hose to the shower unit? The air hose simply pushes in and seals with an O-ring around the air tube connector—no clicking required.

Where does the diffuser fit in the showerhead? The diffuser inserts into the inlet of the handset, typically sitting in the neck of the handset rather than deep inside the head itself.

Should I push the diffuser in gently? Yes! The diffuser slides easily into the neck of the handset with ample space—no need for force.

What if my shower is spluttering? The shower automatically purges the Airboost pump when switched on to clear out any water buildup. However, if spluttering continues:

  • Check the air tube connection at the shower unit and ensure it is secure.
  • Refit the air tube, then remove the handset and confirm that the diffuser is correctly placed in the neck of the handset.
