Finding the right electric shower for you

Unfortunately, we can’t advise on the individual installations of our Electric showers due to electrical safety legislation.
Instead, you’ll need to ask a Part P registered electrician to assess your installation, as your current wiring and fuse may not be suitable.
Please note, in addition, any electrical installation must comply with British Standard 7671.
Our Electric showers are available in a range of power ratings – please find the minimum fuse size each one requires when fed with a 230/240V electrical supply:
7.5kW 32 Amp supply fuse
8.5kW 40 Amp supply fuse
9.0kW 40 Amp supply fuse
9.5kW 40 Amp supply fuse
9.8kW 45 Amp supply fuse
10.8kW 45 Amp supply fuse

In short, electric showers work by taking water from your cold water supply and heating it using a built-in heating element. Once the water gets to the right temperature, it is pushed through the shower head. For more detail, read our guide explaining kW ratings.
A Part P certified plumber can install your electric shower, however if you cannot find a certified plumber, you should contact an electrician. To take the hassle out, Mira offers an installation service for our showers - just choose your shower and our expert installer will come and fit it.
