An upstand is an integrated lip on the outside of the shower tray that’s rebated into the wall to provide a water tight seal where wall tiles meet the tray. It measures 22mm high and 6mm deep.
Only certain models of Mira Shower Trays come with upstands, which you can find with the "number of upstands" feature filter. For more information, call our Customer Services team on 0844 571 5000 or contact us here.
Yes – all Mira Shower Trays are supplied with a waste, but the size and drainage capacity varies from model to model.
You can check the waste details for each shower tray in its Specification section online.
Yes – easy cleaning is one of the key aspects of Mira Flight Safe’s design, and it’s been extensively tested with many different chemicals and substances, to make sure its non-slip surface isn't affected.
Mira Flight Safe trays are very popular in the hospitality industry, as well as homes that use commercial cleaners – although only warm soapy water is needed to clean them.
To reseal your shower tray, remove the old sealant, clean the area, apply masking tape above and below the area to be sealed, apply the sealant, smooth it with a finger, remove tape before drying, and clean off any spilled sealant. To learn more, read our guide to sealing baths, trays and sinks here.
Our shower trays are made from strong, acrylic-capped resin stone, rigorously tested to stand up to scratches, chips and discolouration. Acrylic-capped resin stone is composed of a blend of resin and stone particles topped with a durable acrylic layer, forming a solid, non-porous surface.
To replace a Mira shower tray waste, remove the old waste by unscrewing it from the top, clean away any debris or sealant, then fit the new waste with the provided seal and hand tighten securely. Check for leaks by running water before finishing. You can find more detailed instructions in the installation guides available online or provided with your tray.
To fit a Mira shower tray, ensure the floor is level and secure. Position the tray, check waste alignment, and fit using adjustable legs - or a mortar bed for low-profile trays. Connect the waste, test for leaks, then seal edges with silicone for a watertight finish. For more detailed instructions, read our shower tray installation guide here.
To repair a crack in a Mira shower tray, clean and dry the area thoroughly. Apply a suitable acrylic repair kit or resin filler, smoothing it over the crack. Allow it to cure as per instructions, then sand lightly and polish for a smooth, watertight finish.
